Instructions to make Sukiyaki:
  1. Make Sukiyaki Sauce by combining Dashi, Sugar, Mirin and Soy Sauce.
  2. Heat Oil in a pan or pot then add some of the Beef Slices. When the Beef starts to change colour, pour in some sauce and add some of each vegetable. Do not stir. Let everything cook in the sauce.
  3. When things are cooked, you take whatever you like from the pot, dip it in a lightly beaten raw egg and enjoy it. Because the food is very hot, the egg will be slightly cooked on it and add a wonderful taste and flavour, and it will also make this dish more nutritious. Sukiyaki can be enjoyed without egg.
  4. As things are eaten, add more meat, vegetables and sauce as required. This way everyone can eat until they are satisfied.
  5. *Tips: At the end of the meal, you find delicious sauce remaining in the pan. Don't waste it! Add cooked Udon and enjoy it.

How to Improve Your Mood with Food

Mostly, people have been conditioned to think that “comfort” foods are not good for the body and should be avoided. Sometimes, if your comfort food is a sugary food or another junk food, this holds true. Other times, however, comfort foods can be altogether healthy and it’s good for you to eat them. A number of foods really do elevate your mood when you consume them. When you feel a little down and are needing an emotional boost, try a few of these.

Eggs, believe it or not, are terrific for helping you combat depression. You need to make sure, however, that what you make includes the egg yolk. When you want to cheer yourself up, the egg yolk is the most vital part of the egg. Eggs, especially the egg yolks, are rich in B vitamins. These B vitamins are fantastic for helping to elevate your mood. This is because the B vitamins help your neural transmitters–the parts of your brain that affect your mood–work better. Eat an egg and feel better!

Make a trail mix out of seeds and/or nuts. Almonds, cashews, peanuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, etcetera are all helpful for elevating your mood. This is because seeds and nuts have a lot of magnesium which boosts your brain’s serotonin levels. Serotonin is the “feel good” chemical that directs your brain how you feel at all times. The more of this chemical in your brain, the better you’ll feel. Nuts, in addition to improving your mood, can be a great protein source.

If you want to defeat depression, try eating some cold water fish. Salmon, herring, tuna fish, mackerel, trout, and so on, they’re all chock-full of omega-3 fatty acids and DHA. These are two substances that promote the quality and function of the gray matter in your brain. It’s true: consuming a tuna fish sandwich can earnestly raise your mood.

Grains can be wonderful for overcoming a terrible mood. Barley, quinoa, millet, teff, etc are all good for helping you feel happier. These grains fill you up better and that can help you with your moods also. Feeling famished can truly bring you down! The reason these grains can improve your mood is that they are easy to digest. They are simpler to digest than other foods which helps bring up your blood sugar levels and that, in turn, raises your mood.

Green tea is excellent for moods. You were just expecting to read that, weren’t you? Green tea has been found to be chock-full of an amino acid called L-theanine. Research has proved that this amino acid stimulates the production of brain waves. This helps better your mental acuity while relaxing the rest of your body. You probably already knew how easy it is to become healthy when you drink green tea. Now you know that green tea helps you to raise your moods as well!

Now you realize that junk food isn’t necessarily what you need to eat when you want to help your moods get better. Test out these suggestions instead!
