Steps to make My Favorite Salt Chanko Hot Pot:
  1. Cut the ingredients into pieces small enough that they will cook easily. Add the ☆ ingredients to the pot and heat.
  2. Add the Chinese cabbage and onions to the pot and place all the other ingredients except for the tofu on top. It's okay if everything isn't covered by the broth at this point because the vegetables will soften and wilt.
  3. Put the lid on and heat over high heat. When it comes to a boil, open the lid just enough so it won't boil over. Turn the heat down to low. While it's simmering, occasionally spoon the broth over everything.
  4. When all the ingredients have cooked through, add the tofu, bring to a simmer, and it's done. Add rice and eggs to the leftover broth to make rice porridge at the end - it's really delicious.

Foods That Can Make You Happy

Most of us believe that comfort foods are bad for us and that we have to keep away from them. At times, if your comfort food is a high sugar food or another junk food, this holds true. Other times, comfort foods can be very nourishing and good for us to consume. There are several foods that, when you consume them, could better your mood. When you feel a little down and are in need of an emotional boost, try a few of these.

Eggs, believe it or not, can be truly terrific at fighting back depression. You need to make sure, though, that what you make includes the egg yolk. Every time you wish to cheer yourself up, the egg yolk is the most essential part of the egg. Eggs, the yolks especially, are rich in B vitamins. These B vitamins are terrific for helping to improve your mood. This is because they help in improving the function of your neural transmitters, the components of your brain that affect your mood. Try consuming a few eggs to jolly up!

Build a trail mix from seeds and/or nuts. Your mood can be raised by consuming peanuts, almonds, cashews, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, etc. This is because seeds and nuts have a lot of magnesium which boosts your brain’s serotonin levels. Serotonin is the “feel good” chemical that directs your brain how you feel at all times. The more serotonin in your brain, the better you’ll feel. Not just that, nuts, in particular, are a great source of protein.

If you would like to beat depression, try consuming some cold water fish. Salmon, herring, tuna, mackerel, trout, and so on, they’re all loaded with omega-3 and DHA. DHA and omega-3s are two things that actually help the grey matter in your brain function a lot better. It’s the truth: consuming tuna fish sandwiches can truly help you overcome your depression.

It’s not hard to overcome your bad mood when you are eating grains. Teff, barley, millet, quinoa, etc are all excellent for helping you be in a happier state of mind. They can help you feel full for longer as well, which can help your mood too. It’s not difficult to feel depressed when you are starving! These grains can improve your mood since it’s not at all difficult for your body to digest them. You digest these grains faster than other things which can help boost your blood sugar levels, which, in turn, helps make you feel happier, mood wise.

Green tea is excellent for moods. You were just waiting to read that in this article, weren’t you? Green tea has been found to be chock-full of an amino acid referred to as L-theanine. Research has discovered that this amino acid induces the production of brain waves. This helps improve your mental energy while simultaneously making the rest of your body more relaxed. You were already aware that that green tea helps you become a lot healthier. Now you are well aware that green tea helps you to raise your moods also!

Now you know that junk food isn’t necessarily what you need to eat when you are wanting to help your moods get better. Try some of these tips instead.
