Instructions to make Edamame Mochi:
  1. Mix Glutinous Rice Flour, Warn Water and Salt in a heat-proof bowl until smooth. Add Edamame Beans and mix to combined.
  2. Cover the bowl with a plate, heat in the microwave for 1 minute, stir well with a wet spatular, and heat 2 more minutes or until the mixture is cooked through. When the colour becomes slightly transparent (not white), it is cooked. - *Tips: As the mixture is very sticky, wet the spatular with warm water frequently and sprinkle some warm water over the mixture as you stir.
  3. Spread plenty of Potato Starch Flour on a large plate, using a wet spatular, take the thick and sticky ‘Mochi’ mixture onto the plate. Sprinkle extra Potato Starch Flour over the ‘Mochi’ as well. Set aside, because it is still too hot to handle.
  4. When Mochi is slightly cooled, divide into 12 portions, and remove excess Starch.
  5. Enjoy with your favourite sauce. Soy Sauce is good, but I like the mix of Soy Sauce & some Sugar.

Foods That Can Make Your Mood Better

Most of us have been taught to think that comfort foods are bad and to be avoided. But if your comfort food is candy or junk food this might be true. Other times, though, comfort foods can be completely nourishing and it’s good for you to eat them. There are several foods that actually can improve your moods when you consume them. When you are feeling a little down and are needing an emotional pick-me-up, test out a few of these.

Eggs, believe it or not, can be really wonderful at beating back depression. Just be sure that you don’t get rid of the yolk. The yolk is the part of the egg that is the most crucial in terms of helping elevate your mood. Eggs, the yolk particularly, are rich in B vitamins. B vitamins can actually help you elevate your mood. This is because they help in improving the function of your neural transmitters, the components of your brain that control your mood. Eat some eggs to jolly up!

Put together a trail mixfrom a variety of seeds and nuts. Almonds, cashews, peanuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, etcetera are all great for raising your mood. This is because these nuts are high in magnesium, which helps to increase serotonin production. Serotonin is the “feel good” natural substance that tells your brain how you feel day in and day out. The more you have of it, the more pleasant you will feel. Not only that, nuts, specifically, are a terrific protein source.

Cold water fish are good if you would like to feel happier. Salmon, herring, tuna fish, mackerel, trout, and so on, they’re all high in omega-3 and DHA. These are two substances that boost the quality and function of the grey matter in your brain. It’s the truth: eating tuna fish sandwiches can actually help you overcome your depression.

Grains can be wonderful for driving away a bad mood. Quinoa, barley, millet, etc are terrific at helping you feel happier. They help you feel full too which can truly help to improve your mood. It’s easy to feel low when you feel famished! These grains can help your mood elevate as it’s easy for your body to digest them. They are simpler to digest than other foods which helps bring up your blood sugar levels and that, in turn, raises your mood.

Green tea is excellent for moods. You just knew it had to be included in this article, right? Green tea is loaded with a specific amino acid called L-theanine. Studies show that this specific amino acid can basically induce brain waves. This helps improve your mental energy while at the same time relaxing the rest of your body. You knew green tea could help you become healthier. Now you know that green tea can improve your mood also!

Now you can see that junk food isn’t necessarily what you should eat when you wish to help your moods get better. Try several of these instead!
